Mixedwoods Part 2: Insects, Rx burning, and the functioning of oak-pine

This webinar presents information on how forests consisting of oak and pine mixtures are more resistant to invasive insect damage and maintain continuity in ecosystem functioning following infestations compared to stands dominated by a single genus. We also discuss how recovery processes and the use of prescribed fire following infestations result in the persistence of mixedwood stands.
