Fire can significantly transform soil biological, chemical, and physical properties in terrestrial ecosystems. This presentation will cover an open-source model that can estimate fire-driven soil heating, cooling, and the biotic effects of heating across depths and over time (Soil Heating in Fires, or SheFire), as well as the effects of fire on soils.
