Meadow Creek Watershed Restoration and Research Collaboration: An integrated approach to co-stewarding aquatic and upland First Foods and co-producing new knowledge with tribal nations

The Meadow Creek Watershed Restoration and Research Collaboration is a multi-agency habitat restoration and enhancement project involving tribal, state, federal, educational, and nonprofit organizations with expertise in natural resource management, cultural resource protection, data management, public outreach and education.

This storymap provides information about traditional First Foods for people of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and outlines the project plan that uses these First Foods as a foundational component to design and implement valley floor, upland forest, and upland grassland restoration for the Meadow Creek watershed in eastern Oregon. It also outlines concurrent research, monitoring, and adaptive management plans for the watershed.
