Abstract
A Climate Resilience Guide for Urban Forests in the Northwest explains the potential effects of climate change on Northwest urban forests and discuss strategies that urban planners, foresters, and arborists can implement to ensure the long-term sustainability of community tree canopies.
An interactive Excel spreadsheet of tree species and cultivars commonly available for urban plantings in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington is also available to accompany the Urban Forest Guide. This database can be used to help evaluate the suitability of different species for a given region within the three states based on characteristics such as climate resilience and tolerance to air pollution, drought, soil compaction, and more.
