Bull Elk Park Research Natural Area
Ecological and Physical Description
The Bull Elk Park RNA includes a large, relatively level subalpine meadow that is typical of the high plateau country of the Bighorn Mountains. Because of its isolated topographic position the area has never been grazed by domestic livestock, a situation which is very rare in the Bighorn Mountains. This occurrence is unique in that spike-fescue is present as a dominant, which would make this the most easterly extension of this type in Wyoming.
