Primary Features

The North Fork of Castle Creek RNA contains many of the vegetation types and biophysical combinations representative of the central Black Hills pine and spruce forested ecosystems. It features seep and fen-like ecosystems, as well as communities restricted to Black Hills ecoregion such as white spruce/twinflower (Picea glauca/Linnaea borealis) forests.
