Rocky Comfort Flat is unusual for certain habitat types and for the number of forest and range types that occur there: stands of stiff sage in very good condition; good representation of a number of both forest and range habitat types in very good condition; and undisturbed streamside types. Unusual features such as the patterned ground or "biscuits" of deep, relatively fine-textured soil with intervening swales where bedrock near to the surface. Mountain mahogany/Idaho fescue habitat type uncommon in Idaho.
