Approximately 50 percent Douglas-fir-Aspen cover n the north-facing slopes and 50 percent sagebrusy-grass cover on the south-facing slopes. Set aside in 1903 by presidential order for watershed protection for the City of Pocatello, so no human-caused disturbance has been allowed.
