TTS Adjuster Download and Installation Instructions

Your system must include the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4 or higher. You can obtain the JRE at no charge from Sun's Java download page. Follow the links to download the JRE.

Two versions of the program are available: Adjuster and FreeAdjuster. FreeAdjuster is faster, but each window will appear as a separate task on your Windows taskbar. Adjuster uses internal frames, so all windows open within a single main window and will appear as one task on the Windows taskbar. But graphics operations like zooming and editing are slower in Adjuster-- don't consider using it unless you have at least a 2.4 GHz processor. Adjuster is also slightly less friendly in that it sometimes requires an extra mouse click to activate the main window.

Windows

Download Adjuster or FreeAdjuster to any location on your system. To download, right-click on the link and, from the context menu, choose 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As'. Make sure to retain the .jar extension in the file name. If the JRE is installed, this extension identifies the program as a Java Archive. To run the program, double-click on the .jar file or a desktop shortcut that points to it. If your system does not recognize this file, then you need to install the JRE.

To install the JRE, go to the Java download page and follow the links to download the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). After accepting Sun's license agreement, download the JRE for your operating system . File this anywhere on your system and double-click on it to install the JRE.

Unix/Linux (untested)

Assuming the JRE is installed, and you have saved the program as adjuster.jar, the command to run the program is:

java -jar adjuster.jar

MacIntosh (untested)

Assuming the JRE is installed, double-click on the .jar file to start the program.
