Abstract
Fiscal Year 2024 Executive Summary
We had a productive fiscal year 2024, completing work on 15 field projects across 7 national forests and continuing support of Southern Research Station projects. We deployed our field teams to areas as far away as Arkansas, Florida, and Alabama while tackling projects from stream fish and habitat monitoring to outreach and education. We provided our partners with information and resources they need to maintain or restore healthy watersheds, prioritize infrastructure improvement projects, connect people to the outdoors, and deliver high quality science.
Fiscal year 2024 marked notable changes in staff. We began the year by working with our partners at Virginia Tech to bring on several new staff to account for turnover on the CATT field team. Our partnership with Virginia Tech also continued the collaborative support of a graduate student who is analyzing a portion of the long-term data that Dr. Dolloff and the CATT have collected over the past 30 years. We will be working with our partners at Virginia Tech to bring on new staff this winter and spring to account for additional recent and upcoming field team member turnover.
