Abstract

Results of the 2000 annual inventory of Indiana show that the previous trend of increasing area of forest land and growing-stock volumes has leveled off. Deciduous species continue to dominate Indiana''s forests, accounting for 96 percent of the total growing-stock volume. Known pests in Indiana''s forests include gypsy moth, eastern tent caterpillar, oak wilt, jumoping oak gall, locust leaf miner, white pine weevil, oak tatters, white pine root decline, butternut canker, and pine shoot beetle.
