Abstract
This chapter deals broadly with the North American (NA) sawflies in the two superfamilies Megalodontoidea (Xyelidae and Pamphiliidae, listed phylogenetically) and Tenthredinoidea (Pergidae, Argidae, Cimbicidae, Diprionidae, and Tenthredinidae). The larvae of these sawflies are all phytophagous, and many are significant pests.
