Abstract

The USDA Forest Service North Central Research Station has embarked on a new integrated research and development program to identify and understand the development-related aspects of Midwestern landscape change. This paper describes the framework and scope of the Landscape Change Integrated Program and highlights projects begun during the first two years. Partnerships are seen as essential to the success of the program, to help implement studies and to provide answers to pressing questions concerning the Midwestern region and beyond.
