Abstract

Sirex noctilo is considered a major pest of pine plantations where it has been introduced. Widespread outbreaks of S. noctilo have occurred in New Zealand, Australia, South America, and South Africa. It was rated a "very high risk" pest in a pest risk assessment for North America.
