Abstract

The rates and magnitudes of forest change have important social and economic implications. We address facets of change associated with 20^th century recovery of the U.S. Lake States (Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota) forests from the Great Cutover, and discuss ecological and socioeconomic implications for future forest resources.
