Abstract

This report summarizes information on forest area and timber volume in a 26-county area designated as the post oak region of east Texas. These counties are on the western fringe of lands capable of supporting productive southern forests. The information here is from the first detailed forest inventory of the region, made during 1965 in cooperation with the Texas Forest Service.
