Abstract

Describes socioeconomic characteristics of residents of northern New Hampshire and northeastern Vermont; their level of participation in outdoor recreational activities; perceptions of community problems; and attitudes concerning local versus regional planning, public ownership of northern forest lands, and other pertinent issues with respect to changes in patterns of land ownership that are potentially significant. Responses by state and by size of respondents' communites are compared.
