Abstract

The increased use of fuelwood in northern New England and New York has raised concern about future supplies of manufactured wood products. Direct effects were measured by estimating the competitive advantages of the kraft pulp, waferboard, and oriented strand board industries in purchasing wood. lncreased stumpage prices in the region would have the greatest impact on the reconstituted board industries.
