Abstract

Oklahoma forests supplied 54 million cubic feet of roundwood to forest industries in 1975, a decrease of 16 percent since 1872. Pine made up four-fifths of the total. Saw logs and pulpwood were the major products, accounting for 83 percent of the harvest. Veneer logs accounted for 10 percent, and the remainder was made up mostly of posts (fib. 1). A total of 101 wood-using plants were in operation, as compared to 118 in 1972.
