Abstract

The pyemotid genera Pygmephorus and Pysmotes are redefined. The former is divided into two morphologically and ecologically distinct subgenera, Pygmephorus sensu stricto and Pygmephorus (Pygmephorellus), new subgenus. Three species, Pymeotes parviscolyti, Pygmephorus (Pygmephorellus) bennetti and P. (P.) brachycercus are described.
