Abstract

A canvass of the pulpmills in the 14 Northeastern states reveals that from 1979 to 1980, total pulpwood production rose to nearly 8-1/2 million cords and roundwood production to over 6 million cords; chipped residue production fell below 2-1/2 million cords. Mill receipts were 9.1 million cords--6.4 million in roundwood and 2.7 million in chips.
