Abstract
The outstanding publication of this Forest Experiment Station in recent weeks is the bulletin of the above title by Axel J.F. Brandstrom, Senior Forest Economist. Through the generosity of the Charles Lathrop Pack Forestry Foundation and the cooperation of the West Coast Lumbermen's Association, an edition of 2500 has been printed. Most of the edition has been distributed to lumbermen, foresters and librarians. This bulletin of 115 pages of text, 47 illustrations and 54 tables has attracted much attention and its conclusions have been much discussed. It has undoubtedly started some new lines of thought and introspection in the logging industry.
