Abstract

Trees cut in thinning of Douglas-fir stands were processed into lumber at a profiled cant chipper, a square cant chipper with resaw, and a bandmill. Results are reported in terms of both cubic feet and Scribner long log scale. Included are tables by log input by diameter class for three studies, recovery by lumber grade and dimension item for three studies, and value and recovery by diameter class for the square and profiling canters. Recovery totals for all three studies in both lumber and chips are also reported.
