Abstract

In pulp processing development it is often necessary to measure the effect of a process variable on individual pulp fiber wettability. Such processes would include drying of market pulps, recycling of secondary fibers, and surface modification of fibers as in sizing. However, if wettability is measured on a fiber sheet surface, the results are confounded by variations in fiber network morphology.
