Abstract

The emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), was first discovered in 2002 near Detroit, MI, probably arriving in solid wood packing materials on cargo ships from Asia. Since then, the beetle has spread over much of northeastern North America.
