Abstract

A field technique for evaluating winds aloft is described. It can be used at remote places--even at the site of a wildfire. It has proved accurate as any known single theodolite technique, and is time-saving because the winds aloft are evaluated in miles per hour from direct readout. The tools required are much lower in cost, more portable, and more multi-purpose than any other known technique.
