Abstract

Knowledge of variation in oakwood properties that are related to pulp yield and quality is essential in genetic improvement research. Two important properties that can be studied easily are specific gravity and fiber length. This paper reports a study made to develop a guide to field selection of breeding material in cherrybark oak (Quercus falcala var. pagodaefolia Ell.).
