Abstract

A reference guide for scientists, students, and visitors to the Penobscot Experimental Forest. A research unit of the Northeastern Forest Experiment Station, the 4,000-acre site is located in southern Penobscot County near Bangor. Includes the history and a description of the physical features of the Penobscot, an annotated list of 103 species of woody plants and shrubs found there, and a list of publications on research conducted on the forest.
