Abstract

The spotted owl (Strix occidentalis caurina) has been listed as a sensitive species by the Pacific Southwest Region USDA Forest Service. Past and present-studies-and surveys have led to the development of a region-wide network of owl territories to comply with the maintenance of viable populations as required by the National Forest Management Act. A brief explanation of the network is included.
