Abstract

Expenditures for pulpwood continued to rise during 1981, but rate of growth was slower than In previous years. Monies expended totaled $1,185.7 million, an 8.3 percent increase over 1980. Softwood roundwood averaged $47.15 and hardwood $35.10 per standard cord, up 7.4 and 6.7 percent. Chip prices were $22.05 for softwood and $15.50 for hardwood per qreenton,up 11.4 and 3.3 percent. Softwood sawdust was up 14.6 percent to $8.25 per green ton, but hardwood sawdust decreased 1.3 percent to 57.55.
