Abstract

Bromacil was effective when applied as individual tree treatments to blackjack and post oak. A dose of 2 grams per inch of trunk diameter gave good kills on both species during March, April, May, and June; and a 1-gram dose gave marginal or near-marginal kills in March, April, and May. Fenuron and picloram were not effective in any season, except that the 2-gram rate of fenuron gave marginal kills in March and April.
