The unit hydrograph principle applied to small watersheds.

Abstract

The unit hydrograph principle was first presented in 1932 by Leroy K. Sherman, M. Am. Soc. C. E. Since then it has been developed into a usable method for surface run-off analysis. The most notable advance was the introduction of the distribution graph and pluviagraph in 1934 by Merrill M. Am. Soc. C. E. Although the method has become quite. generally accepted, the engineers and hymologists who have made special studies in this field have suggested that farther research be conducted to determine, more definitely, the limitations in the application of the unit hydrograph. One of the unsettled issues is the question of its usefullness on small streams.
