Abstract
In California, climate change, dramatically manifested in the increasing severity and extent of wildfires, is renewing interest in tools to guide silvicultural treatments for reforestation. Managers often face difficult decisions regarding the potential use of herbicides, which are commonly an essential competing vegetation control method for assuring reforestation success in the region. Young stand fertilization may also help quickly achieve forest resilience and resistance to reburns.
