Abstract

Corrigendum (April 2026): Incorrect units of measure on table A-42 (thousand dry tons) were replaced with the correct units of measure (thousand cubic feet).

This publication provides authoritative updates to the Nation’s forest resource statistics reported in “Forest Resources of the United States, 2017” and the 2020 Resources Planning Act (RPA) Assessment using adapted Forest Inventory and Analysis data. Resource data tables present estimates of forest area, volume, mortality, growth, removals, timber products output, and more in various ways within the context of changes since 1953.
