Abstract

Cost of producing container-grown seedlings increase when containers are not fully stocked. Best use of containers requires high seed viability and low losses of newly germinated seedlings. Seed handling practices before and after sowing affect germination and seedling survival. This is a summary of seed preperation, sowing rates, disease control, and seed germination for container-grown southern pines.
