Abstract

Woody nonpine vegetation, averaging over 6,000 rootstocksiac, was controlled by chain-saw felling, chain-saw felling plus prescribed burning,orby a broadcast herbicide spray to release even-aged loblolly and shortleafpine (Pinus taeda L. and P. echinata Mill.) saplings that became established from natural seedfall on a cutover area.
