USDA Forest Service Research & Development has led development of the joint EPA-USFS AirNow Fire and Smoke Map, the primary destination for air quality information during smoke episodes. A partnership between the Forest Service-led Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program, Forest Service Research, and the Environmental Protection Agency, the Fire and Smoke Map is available on the EPA’s public air quality information website, AirNow . The AirNow app is also available on the Apple and Android app stores. The Fire and Smoke Map is part of the USDA Forest Service's commitment to address smoke under the 2019 Dingell Act.
