Understanding how and why people interact with nature helps us improve how we manage these vital resources. The Rocky Mountain Research Station makes significant contributions to social science and economic analysis in the West and throughout the country. Current research addresses major issues confronting societies around the world, such as global climate change, management of energy, fire, and water, and ecosystem services, that have important socioeconomic dimensions.
