Ecological and Physical Description
The Deadman Creek RNA includes the complete upper watershed of Deadman Creek, extending from the crest of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the floor of the San Luis Valley, including near pristine subalpine forest and alpine tundra. A large area of aspen forest covers much of the lower to middle elevations of the watershed, which includes a substantial representation of high elevation wetlands, grasslands, and alpine tundra.
