Ecological and Physical Description

Size
1,846ac (747ha)
Elevation Range
5,820' (1,774m) - 5,820' (1,774m)
Primary Features

Approximately 90 percent of the area is a broad alluvial fan sloping eastward and northeastward on a grade of two to five percent.  Vegetal cover is dominated by low shrubs.  A number of cold desert communities are represented, the plant types usually being associated with particular soils.  The mountainous portion supports a more varied and floristically richer cover than the alluvial fan.
