Primary Features

The Hurricane Canyon RNA is a remnant example of the original montane forests on the east slope of the Front Range. Douglas-fir is the dominant overstory tree, but ponderosa pine is also abundant. Oakbrush transition communities occur in the northern part of the RNA, and Englemann and blue spruce along stream banks.
