Primary Features

Representative of Douglas-fir forest, Idaho fescue and bluebunch wheatgrass grassland, shrubland plant communities, undisturbed condition, and location at the southern extent of the Pacific Northwest bunchgrass type where it interfingers with the sagebrush steppe region of southern Idaho. Although the area is small, it is very diverse with respect to slope aspect, degree of slope, and soil depth. As a consequence, a number of grassland types are represented
