Primary Features

The Saddle Mountain RNA includes a large area of high quality montane grassland that has not been grazed by domestic livestock since 1951. The grassland is surrounded by Engelmann spruce and aspen forest with some bristlecone pine. It provides a control area for heavy grazing in adjacent areas.
