Primary Features

The Signal Hill RNA occupies an area of rolling sandhills prairie in the drainage of the Middle Loup River that is typical of the Nebraska Sandhills region. The terrain of the RNA is primarily choppy hills or sand dunes intermingled with valleys. The RNA supports a good vegetative cover of primarily mixed grass and tall grass prairie species. Wild plum, chokecherry, and other shrub species are also abundant.
