Primary Features

Square Mountain Creek Research Natural Area (RNA) is a glaciated cirque basin in the center of the Gospel-Hump Wilderness.  It contains one of the rarest plant species in Idaho, Douglasia idahoensis; at least six subalpine fir habitat types and several phases of some of these types; whitebark pine-subalpine fir types; and a well developed aquatic system.
