Updated Silvics of North America Project Acknowledgments

The Updated Silvics of North America Project (USNAP) is made possible by the contributions of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service; Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service (Le Service canadien des forêts); and Mexico’s National Forestry Commission (Comisión Nacional Forestal; CONAFOR). These governmental organizations provide the project support team, and the tools needed to conduct this international and cross-organizational project.

We recognize the efforts of the Core Committee in developing a universal chapter outline and conducting thorough peer reviews of each submitted chapter. Our recognition also goes to the authors who dedicate their time to creating high-quality products. These voluntary contributions of time are critical to the success and maintenance of the project. In addition to the regular responsibilities of the Core Committee, the Distribution and Environmental Associations section team developed updated range maps and projected range maps for over 200 species.

The Updated Silvics of North America Project would not be possible without the authors, other contributors, and organizers of its predecessors, the Silvics of North America published in 1990 and 1965.
