Abstract

Included are (1) 22 technical papers (by researchers from many sections of the United States and Canada) pertaining to selection and progeny testing, radiation genetics, intraspecific variation, natural and artificial hybridization, breeding systems, breeding methodology and specialized tree breeding techniques, and applied breeding and allied fields; (2) concise descriptions of 16 genetic studies visited on the Kellogg Forest of Michigan State University; and (3) brief reports of the activities of the Lake State Forest Tree Improvement Committee and the Society of American Foresters' Committee on Forest Tree Improvement. The meeting was held at Hickory Corners, Mich.
