Overview of Computer Simulation Modeling Approaches and Methods

Abstract

The field of simulation modeling has grown greatly with recent advances in computer hardware and software. Much of this work has involved large scientific and industrial applications for which substantial financial resources are available. However, advances in object-oriented programming and simulation methodology, concurrent with dramatic increases in computer capabilities and reductions in computer hardware costs, have meant that the benefits of simulation can be extended to areas that previously have been impractical.
