Pulpwood production in the Northeast-1987

Abstract

This annual report contains 1987 information compiled from a canvass of all pulpmills that use pulpwood produced in the 14 Northeastern States. In 1987, total production reached 9,387,700 cords, an increase of 5 percent since 1986. Roundwood production was 6,796,700 cords whereas pulpwood from residues was 2,591,000 cords. Each of these increased from the previous year, by 3 and 10 percent, respectively. The receipts of pulpwood at mills in the region were 9,894,400 cords.
