- Forest fragmentation is commonly characterized using indices derived from analyses of classified land cover maps. - Respondents to a social survey sent to residents in the Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue (LWFR) service district are moderately aware of the risk of wildfire to their home, are discussing wildfire with their neighbors, and are taking action to reduce risk. - Previously established correlations of flame length L with fireline intensity IB are based on theory and data which showed that flame zone depth D of a line fire could be neglected if L was much greater than D.
